Introducing the Koffein, a unique collaboration between Dirty Haggard Audio and Oak and Crow!

The Dirty Haggard Audio Koffein pedal is an extraordinary distortion/fuzz pedal that offers a range of unconventional features. Its circuit consists of three sections: an input gain stage, a three band EQ, and an output gain stage.

What sets the Dirty Haggard Audio Koffein apart is the EQ section's interaction with the output gain stage, resulting in some fascinating effects. As the EQ section is positioned before the gain stage, it acts as a frequency dependent gain control, granting you the ability to determine the level of distortion for each of the three bands.

The 'treble/feedback' control operates in the expected manner, adjusting the high frequencies passing through the stage. However, when pushed to its limits, it generates a piercing feedback loop for those who revel in chaos.

The 'midrange' control is where the real magic happens. By reducing this control while boosting the others, you can achieve a gritty fuzz tone. Conversely, increasing it delivers aggressive metal tones. When fully cranked, it produces a stationary wah sound. The 'midrange' control allows for a wide range of sonic possibilities throughout its sweep.

The 'bass' control, on the other hand, offers two options by adjusting the tightness and monstrous quality of the low end distortion. Cranking it up will pleasantly overload the final gain stage, resulting in a satisfying sound.

Additionally, the Dirty Haggard Audio Koffein features a subtle yet destructive noise gate. Not only does it eliminate most of the hiss and hum, but it also introduces a substantial amount of crossover distortion to the mix. Why settle for mere peak clipping when you can embrace crossover clipping as well?
