Description

Introducing The Thing, a monstrous creation resulting from the collaboration between Dirty Haggard Audio and Bardic Audio Devices. Brace yourself for an otherworldly experience as this pedal combines a searing fuzz that delivers scorching tones with a versatile phaser and EQ.

The phaser section of The Thing boasts two channels for added flexibility. One channel offers a two stage phaser effect, while the other channel delivers a four stage phaser effect. The Dirty Haggard Audio The Thing provides power to shape your sound further with the low and high EQ controls, which provide two selectable frequencies each. The low EQ can be set to 85 Hz or 155 Hz, while the high EQ offers options of 870 Hz or 2.2 kHz.

To add even more creativity to your sonic adventures, The Thing allows you to independently mix the phaser and dry signals either before or after the fuzz effect. This opens up a world of possibilities for experimentation and tailoring your tone to perfection.

So, why was The Thing created?  Tim from Bardic Audio Devices and Nick from Dirty Haggard Audio had discussed a collaboration for some time. Tim excels in complex modulation effects, while Nick is known for my aggressive fuzz tones. Nick and Tim combined their strengths and unique ideas, giving birth to The Thing, a pedal that is ready to unleash its sonic fury.

Controls

• GAIN: Adjusts the amount of distortion generated in the fuzz section, allowing you to dial in the perfect level of grit
• FUZZ: Controls the volume of the fuzz tone, ensuring it blends seamlessly with your overall sound
• HI EQ: Similar to the HM-2 style peaking EQ, this control boosts or cuts two frequency bands simultaneously, one in the upper mids and one in the treble frequencies
• LO EQ: Also inspired by the HM-2 style peaking EQ, this control shapes two frequency bands simultaneously, one in the lower mids and one in the bass frequencies
• DRY: Adjusts the volume of the clean signal, allowing you to blend it with the fuzz and phaser effects to taste
• DRY/FUZZ TOGGLE: Determines whether the clean or fuzz signal is combined with both phaser outputs and sent to the master output
• RATE 1 and RATE 2: Controls the speed of the first and second phaser respectively, offering a wide range of modulation possibilities
• PH1/FUZZ TOGGLE and PH2/FUZZ TOGGLE: These toggles let you choose whether the respective phaser affects the clean or fuzz signal
• PHASE 1 and PHASE 2: Adjusts the volume of the phaser effect for each respective channel
