Description

The ThorpyFX Field Marshal is a MKII version and reimagining of the Lovetone™ Big Cheese circuit. The Lovetone™ Big Cheese boutique fuzz pedal was originally designed in the early 00’s. The ThorpyFX Field Marshal expands on that legacy to deliver more volume, lower noise, more flexibility all in a much smaller pedalboard friendly footprint.

The ThorpyFX Field Marshal is designed to provide you with a supremely nasty foot switchable fuzz pedal that evokes the sounds of everything from a smooth fuzz through to a nasty spitty broken speaker style of fuzz.

Tonal flexibility is provided through a tone stack bypass foot switch that allows you to have two different fuzz sounds from the same pedal. The balance control is linked to the tone stack bypass and can be set to the same volume as your core sound or as a boosted fuzz for solos.

The ThorpyFX Field Marshal is equipped with a three toggle switch for gated fuzz, flat mids and enhanced mids. This gives enhanced tonal flexibility and cutting mids that will slice through a band mix.

Controls

VOLUME: Use this control to increase the volume output of the ThorpyFX Field Marshal
FUZZ: This control is used to increase the level of fuzz, everything from lighter fuzz through to searing fuzz
TONE: This allows control over the treble and bass response of the ThorpyFX Field Marshal. Counter clockwise yields smoother sounds whilst clockwise yields brighter sounds. This control is very interactive with the mode switch and CHEESE footswitch
BALANCE: This control adjusts the volume attributed to the CHEESE footswitch when engaged. Everything from an attenuated sound through to a massive volume boost for solos
MODE SWITCH: This is a mode switch and allows you to choose between gated fuzz, mid scoop and mid boost fuzz settings. When the CHEESE switch is engaged, this switch is over ridden and has no impact on the sound
LEFT FOOTSWITCH: This turns the ThorpyFX Field Marshal on and off
RIGHT FOOTSWITCH: This “CHEESE” control bypasses the tone stack entirely for a different tonal response, turning the gating off and giving you a level boost depending on where you set the balance control. When this is switched in the tone control and mode switch DO NOTHING.
