Description

The FFX Pedals Sir Reel is inspired by a vintage German echo/reverb from the 1970’s made by Dynacord.  The Dynacord echo and reverb was well respected, however, session players discovered another use for this vintage time based effect.

Guitarists and sound engineers found that the Dynacord echo and reverb unit was perfect as a preamp for guitar amplifiers and mixing desks.  Using the Dynacord echo and reverb in this way allowed the input of an amp or desk to be driven into overdrive and created a tone that was desirable to guitarists.

The FFX Pedals Sir Reel achieves the same by pushing the input of an amplifier into overdrive and boosting frequencies and fattening guitar tone.  The FFX Pedals Sir Reel is ideal for use with single coils to create a full and pleasant tone.

The blend knob allows the dry and wet signal to be adjusted accordingly.  Turning the blend knob to maximum gives the exact same effect from the two main controls, Fat and Grit.  Reducing the blend knob adds more complexity to the guitar tone.

In short, the FFX Pedals Sir Reel is the perfect preamp to fatten up your guitar tone and create those pleasing tones guitarists desire.  The FFX Pedals Sir Reel also drives valves into overdriving giving bite and edge to the tone.

Frank Fleckenstein of FFX Pedals only uses quality components in all his builds and the FFX Pedals Sir Reel includes Lumberg DC and audio jacks, Alpha switches and potentiometers, Burr Brown and low noise op amps, increased board voltage and a built in buffer to clean up the signal.
