Description

The Big Fella by Lunastone Pedals is your one stop station to a modern rock tone in a popular 2 in 1 pedal format.

The tone of this hard hitting drive gem will fill the room with a massive overdrive that is super fat, yet with a firm low end.

The Big Fella is all about sustain and power, yet it is very transparent voice blends smoothly with the sound of your amp when cranked up, supporting the characteristics of your guitar in full.

With the Big Fella at your feet, you simply get a full bodied overdrive with a thick, high gain rawness and a massive punch that makes a small amp sound like a stack blasting at full power.

Back off the volume on your guitar and you’ll get a clean, undistorted sound. Turn it back up and you’re straight back in the hardcore business of rock ‘n’ roll!

The Big Fella gives you two drives, OD1 and OD2. It does have a smooth sounding and crunchy side, but where it truly excels is in the overdrive department, going from brute and rough to brutal and roaring.

Add to that an an independent +15db of post drive boost, lifting your solos right above the band mix. And if you need even more cut through-power, a dedicated tone knob allows you to shape the high and mid frequencies of your overdrive signal.

Finally, true bypass switching makes sure your tone remains pure whenever The Big Fella is turned off.

What is TrueOverDrive™?

There are basically three terminologies that are used to describe distorting guitar effects pedals: distortion, fuzz, and overdrive. Over the years, these names have been mixed together.

For most manufacturers, categorising is more a matter of taste and what they think a particular effects pedal sounds like rather than the actual physical differences in the electronic circuits. Essentially, ‘distortion’ covers everything that distorts a signal, whereas ‘overdrive’ relates to overdriving amp circuits, pushing a signal on the input of the amp that is hotter than what the amp is designed to cope with.

Today, most distortion and overdrive guitar effects pedal on the market use clipping diodes to create the distorting effect of the guitar signal. Lunastone Pedals TrueOverDrive™ pedals, Wise Guy, Big Fella and Three Stage Rocket, use a technique that have no clipping diodes in the signal chain at all. The overdrive comes exclusively from cascading gain stages, much like in a real tube amplifier. The result is a very transparent and tube like sound with lots of sustain and body. The reactions we have received from many guitar players, who have tried our pedals, is that they sound like a hot rodded Fender amp or a Marshall Plexi head driven hard.
