Philip Czarnecki JAM Pedals Wahcko Demo 121 Feature

We had the pleasure of witnessing Philip Czarnecki's exceptional demonstration of the JAM Pedals Wahcko, a wah pedal that has garnered immense appreciation from both him and us at FX Pedal Planet Online Store. Philip's demonstration skillfully showcased the versatility and sonic possibilities of the JAM Pedals Wahcko, particularly with his Hendrix inspired licks and captivating tones. Impressed by his work, we couldn't resist the opportunity to have a conversation with Philip, delving into his thoughts and insights on the extraordinary JAM Pedals Wahcko wah pedal. Join us as we delve into the world of Philip Czarnecki and his remarkable experience with this phenomenal pedal.

Hi Philip, great demo of the JAM Pedals Wahcko.  I have a Wahcko myself and love the tone it creates.  For me, it creates the wah tone that has been in my head years and have always been   searching for.  What interested you in the JAM Pedals Wahcko?

Hi Steve, thanks!  I got the JAM Pedals Wahcko for two reasons.  Firstly, I love the rotary switch, which gives lots of options to find the EQ sweep that suits you and your playing style.  Secondly, I wanted to be able to use the wah-wah in front of a fuzz pedal, which is effortless with the JAM Pedals Wahcko due to its bufferless proprietary circuit for impedence sensitive pedals, for example, germanium fuzz.

How responsive is the Wahcko treadle?

I find it very responsive.  As mentioned above, the rotary switch lets you find the setting that suits you.  If you need treble, turn it one way, if you need more mids and less bite, turn it the other   way!

When I first plugged in a Wahcko, I was surprised at how wide the filter range is.  Did you experience the same?

Yes!  I was positively surprised by the versatility of the JAM Pedals Wahcko and bonded with it instantly.

In the demo, you have the six position rotary switch in my favourite position.  What is your favourite setting of the rotary switch and why?

I tend to like a bit less treble so I’m using it in the second position, seen from the “darkest” EQ side.   This is probably my favourite position, although I went for position three (from the same side) in the funky tune at the end of my demo.  For me, it depends on the guitar and vibe I go for.

What is your favourite song that uses wah?

I’d go with “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” by Jimi Hendrix.  That’s why I started my demo with a version of mine of this song!

Lastly, who are some of your favourite wah users and why?

As mentioned above, Jimi Hendrix is one of them.  I love how he used wah in his crazy and psychedelic improvisations.  But, of course, I also have to mention Wah Wah Watson, who is the   pioneer when it comes to using the wah in an expressive and experimental way, I think.

We extend our gratitude to Philip Czarnecki for dedicating his time to create this exceptional feature.
